I would try a mix of foods and see what it takes to. You can try flakes and pellets, but no telling if it will get used to them, but it will make your life easier when it gets big if it dose get used to them. You can try very small feeders, blood worms, small live shrimp, and even try cutting up small peices of earthworms. All of this will work, but it will be good if you can get it used to eating a variety of things, this way when it get big you will have a variety of choices of food to feed it.

today while catching turtles i got a little lmb what should i feed it? bloodworms or what.
small worms if you have no gravel, i feed mine cichlid granules and goldfish flakes

i have a 4" and he eats worms, guppies, frogs, shrimp and various bugs

Did you check regulations for your area? Thats why when people ask which bass to get? I always recommend rockbass, they stay smaller and don't have a size limit, well at least for my state. No size limit 50 combined species they are listed under panfish.
Besides that your lmb will not refuse a piece of worm don't waste your money on guppys just go in the garden and dig up a few worms.

yea well its eating blood worms and i got anoter 1 incher today and a 2 incher and i think its legal dunno have to check.

Damn those babies take me back!, I'm getting me some lmb. Funny thing is, I had trouble feeding my pleco cause no matter what I tossed in the tank these guys ate it. Algea wafers never even hit bottom. Thanks to my brothers here on the forum maybe the nothern bass is where I'm headed.Actually, it's awfully nice to see I have sisters too,!!.
