if you have a dremel handy, i would recommend that over a grinder. Just out of safety alone. Less apt to cut a finger offhaha mine will probably look more like a turd than a log.

Heated it with a heatgun to put a little movement into it and did a quickie brown paint job on it. (used a dremel on this one).
I had seen someone do something similar awhile back and thought about doing one for my pleco but totally forgot all about it till I saw your post tonight. So thanks for the kick in the pants
Thinking about doing a few with heated/pinched shut ends for breeding too now.
