So after a month+ of delays, I finally got my new 400 Tenecor -

120 x 32 x 24

Except

It bows EMPTY .........

some of the holes drilled are the wrong size .....

they made a mistake, drilled holes in the back in the wrong place , refilled the holes and sent it like that to me ......

and im just shocked that the seams arent cleaner, the epoxy is pretty messy.

I called and told my sales guy all these things and he has to talk to the engineer, anyone else feel like i got ripped?

Sounds to me like you got hosed but I hear really good things about tenecor so I'm sure they'll take care of you.

I would have a very hard time accepting that tank. In my opinion you got hosed. I have no idea what you paid but whatever it was, this tank is not what you paid for.

In the past I always heard great things about tenecor. Recently it seems like I have been hearing a lot more negative though. However, this is coming from a guy with a glasscages tank so take it with a grain of salt. ;)

Sorry to learn of this...I know dealing with this is a BIG headache and quite a disappointment. I would not accept the tank. One of these days, I'll tell you about MY experience with Tenecor.

No excuse at all for that shoddy work. I have accepted tanks from other manufacturers a couple of times that weren't exactly what I ordered, and I always thought about it every time I looked at them. Grrrrrrrrrr! One of them failed too! Double GRRRRRRRR!

You have all the leverage in this situation. I assume you paid by credit card? Lots of leverage there. If they didn't deliver as ordered, require them to make it right or file a claim with the credit card company.

To give them some incentive to work with you we may be able to work together. I am looking for a cheap (i.e. ugly or old) tank for outdoor use. As long as it holds water, tell Tenecor they can make a deal with me on your tank (which you should refuse and get what you ordered). Perhaps if they know they have a buyer they'll cut you a better deal. I'd pay wholesale cost plus shipping.

Just a thought!

Regardless of what damage control measures Tenecor may take to placate the customer now that they've been challenged, I really think you have to ask yourself what reputable, technically astute and conscientious company would make those mistakes in the first place and then send out a tank in that condition? Did they think the customer wouldn't notice? Maybe they didn't care or decided to roll the dice.
