First of all I am very sorry to here your story, as someone who just brought home a new, albeit glass 500g tank I would be very upset if I were in your shoes.
Be strong and demand a fix that you are going to happy with in the long term.
America is a consumer based society and you should exercise your rights to have the product you ordered.
Good luck and demand they fix your tank after all it is a long turn investment of sorts.

That is completely unacceptable! You would be the stupidest person alive to accept that after the coin you probably blew on this tank. Demand a 10% discount and make sure you get what you want.

Sorry to learn of this...I know dealing with this is a BIG headache and quite a disappointment. I would not accept the tank. One of these days, I'll tell you about MY experience with Tenecor.
I am all ears. I have already decided against them on their prices and 50-50 negative positive feedback. For their price it should be virgins bosom's perfect. Just my opinion. I hope they take care of you OP I am rooting for ya!

I beleive you, but pictures of said work will go along way. If they had the nerve to ship such a messed up tank you should atleast show your fellow MFKer's what to look out for. If it was me in this situation it would be worth a couple hundred to contact a lawyer and see what they can do about it.

I have recently received two large tanks from Tenecor......
I have read allot about how good they were, etc..........
NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tanks arrived damaged from the shipper(Tenecor should of grated them properly).
The damage was mainly scratches on the bottom and small chips.
The tanks were 120in x 48in x 30in high and 120in x 42in x 30in high.....
I have not filled them with water yet!!! The Tenecor guy said they were very sorry.....
The seams were very messy.....LIFE TIME WARRANTY....we will see.........
I also had to send pic's to them.........
Now the 20 plus holes in them were wrong..........
I told them more than once that I want the schedule 80 bulkhead fittings and
the sizes I needed.....I honestly believe they don't have engineers working
for them but low paid laborers........
I ordered the lids to be the same thickness as the tank walls(3/4in)..
they arrived 1/4in.....when I asked them why they said ,well they won't warp
and I said I need weight so the fish don't knock them off and they said
they never heard of such a thing happening..............
I was tempted to ask them if they voted for bush.......................
anyway I will never order from them again...they are a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very expensive an not good quality, etc....
I will find a plastics company in my city and work with them direct.

Now, about the holes .........I have a battery drill and grinder.....
Batteries have less R.P.M. which is important when acrylic ....
I bought a grinding stone for the grinder and a sandpaper cylindrical disc
for my drill....
first I used the grinder, then the drill and the holes look great(NO DAMAGE)
and now my bulk head fittings fit!!!!!!!!!
I bought NOVUS #1 #2 #3 for the scratches and buffed out with a low rpm buffer..
Anyway the tanks are coming together, finally, no thanks to Tenecor...
I just hope they don't leak!!!!!!!!!!
Pic's will come !!!! Good Luck...........

post em. I too what like to see what we are all discussing. makes the discussion much more meaningful IMO.

sorry about your tank and I hope they look after you.
I agree I am curious to see what they consider passable.

I guess Glasscages is not the only company out there that needs to work on customer service.

but there is a difference here: if you research glasscages, customer service issues and negative experiences are common place - the net is flooded with bad experiences out there. their reputation is vastly different than Tenecor's reputation.

with Tenecor, bad experiences are apparently rare. but they still happen as this thread shows.

no company is immune it seems.
