but there is a difference here: if you research glasscages, customer service issues and negative experiences are common place - the net is flooded with bad experiences out there.

with Tenecor, they are rare. but they still happen as this thread shows.

no company is immune.

Correct, I see at least two or three threads on this board about Tenecor.

Well I sent an email to them stating that I felt like i was getting a second rate Tenecor tank and that I expect to have a new one made up to Tenecor standards. I also mentioned that I paid alot of coin to get a High Quality Tenecor Tank. My request has been sent to the owner and now its the waiting game.

Theyve alrdy admitted that the hole size was cut wrong and that they cant explain why the tank bows empty.

Like I said, if I wanted a tenecor tank and I paid for it, then I would never accept anything substandard. If I am gonna take the time to call mars inc. about stale m&ms, then I will certainly take the time to call tenecor and get this fixed.

I do not know where you work, but I would suggest seeing if they have a lawyer that you can use. My parents had a deal fall through with a contracting company them twice that the price we agreed and signed on and she was able to get the lawyer at her work to handle it for free.

Good luck, I urge you to accept no more than perfect from this company.

that hole patching is poor at best, you would expect more for wht you paid.......how much did you pay these monkeys?

Sucks to hear you received such a shoddy product. Makes me think twice about buying a large tank.

No excuse at all for that shoddy work. I have accepted tanks from other manufacturers a couple of times that weren't exactly what I ordered, and I always thought about it every time I looked at them. Grrrrrrrrrr! One of them failed too! Double GRRRRRRRR!

You have all the leverage in this situation. I assume you paid by credit card? Lots of leverage there. If they didn't deliver as ordered, require them to make it right or file a claim with the credit card company.

To give them some incentive to work with you we may be able to work together. I am looking for a cheap (i.e. ugly or old) tank for outdoor use. As long as it holds water, tell Tenecor they can make a deal with me on your tank (which you should refuse and get what you ordered). Perhaps if they know they have a buyer they'll cut you a better deal. I'd pay wholesale cost plus shipping.

Just a thought!

Bumpdiggity!

Wow, this really worries me as I just ordered a 180g tank+stand/canopy from tenecor, and the price I paid for that still makes me queazy. It should be arriving in the next 2-4 weeks... Now I'm nervous. :(

I wish you the best of luck in dealing with a replacement. I did, however, just read on these boards about someone getting their tenecor tank replaced rather smoothly. Although, that was after a botched overflow started leaking. :irked:
