Got rip off again :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The older Hagen tanks didn't have center BRACES... the newer ones do however.
I have an old 90 and a 120-long and they have no center braces.

If you plan on putting a glass top on it, you should get a piece of glass cut so you can make your own brace, then use that to rest 2 24x18 glass tops on it.

reselling it with a metal stand too

No leak :D

From the bottom to the top (including the black trimming = 20") but if measuring the glass is only up to 18"

The measurement for the gallon size of a tank is the out side dimensions including plastic. The water is never going to be the exact amount of gallons because the bottom fill, decorations, plants, and fish all take up volume. So in a 75 gal you might only have 60 - 65 gals of water. And you want to fill the tank past the top plastic trim to cover up any uneven water level.

honestly i have seen at least 5 hex tanks fail. maybe it was just coincidence but i don't trust them. wouldn't put anything too pricey it it. just my $.02

ALLWAYS, ALLWAYS measure and calculate BEFORE buying. i just looked at a "150" gal tank that was really only a 120 gal

What is the formula for calculating this?

It's important to know the standard measurements on tanks. A guy listed a 55g set up with the dimensions of a 75g on craigslist this morning. Needless to say, I emailed and am waiting for a reply.

It's also good to be able to measure a tank on the go. A dollar bill is six inches long. I use my right hand which stretches to about 9.5" tip of thumb to tip of pinky. I know some wiseass guy will suggest something else, but I'm pretty sure the owner of the tank won't approve of you whipping it out and measuring the tank with it.
