Not saying this is what happened but if you want to go out to a place like Peru Venezuela or almost any other s. American country to catch fish of any size it makes sense to do it when water levels are low and fish are more congregated otherwise there is just to much water and places to hide for them to be fesibly caught on a large scale for export

Certainly, but under the semi-starving conditions that take place during the dry season, when fish can be found congregated in shallow pools, they are FAR out of spawning season, and any fry to be found are eaten in short order. IOW, under those conditions one will be catching adult & semi adult fish, not 3/4-1" fry.

So you're saying that one should assume that the fish are actually wild unless proven otherwise.

I tend to think it's the other way around.

Matt

that's a good idea.

but

But you guys are the accusers.

Lets see what you guys got to show to proof.

He's not accusing anyone of anything. He's just chillin livin his life Im sure. I don't want to bother ppl for that. But you can.

So all guesses and assumptions still...

You guys aren't geniuses so calm down with writting pages full of "no proves"

I did not read any of them but I already know there's nothing there :)

Someone located in FL that just purchased some 1.5" "wild caught" (cough-cough) festae just PM'd me asking for my input. I directed that member to this past thread. They had already read the quality vs trash discussion.

Interestingly enough, several months later & there are still 1-1.5" "wild caught" festae being sold by certain vendors. After almost a year of being in captivity these imports either haven't grown one iota since they first landed, or somehow we now magically have a never ending supply of FO festae fry (the exact same size) being imported in to the USA. :)

The plot thickens ...........

I guess for some people it's only hilarious when it's someone else's fish, and someone else's hard earned money.
