Should I remove the gouriams and add some smaller fish like barbs. Opions please
Are Blue gouriams disirable
I like that they do a good job cleaning the tank of food that was not eaten by the others. Other than that they a bland in color and do not do much but hang together. I got them to cycle a tank like a year ago. Maybe time to make a change.

I guess what i am asking in your opinion what with the blue gouriami?

carps really arent that aggressive (well for a cichlid) they definitely do have an attitude though and will stress another fish into dying if it feels like it doesn't have enough space, they are about medium level i guess, and if the GT is smaller then yes it could defintiely kill it IME GTs dont get that aggressive until they are older. and yes if i were you i would get rid of the gouramis, IME they produced ALOT of waste and pretty much were pooing all the time, i would get rid of them and get like 4 more tiger barbs, tiger barbs will do amazing job of cleaning any left over food they are pigs lol. with the extra room you could probably try taking out the divider just make sure to rearrange everything like i said. and you will still need an upgrade eventually though this should def buy you some time (but i wouldnt add GT until you have bigger tank)

Here's my opinion for whatever it's worth. Short form.

If you want the 55 get rid of the Tex
If you want the Tex as a wet pet get a 90
If you want to keep everything get a 6ft tank 125 min.

Blue Goramis as with any fish is diserable if you like them.

I should have added I really dislike Tiger Barbs. There like little packs of wolfs and then get big and what do you do with all of them?

i want the texas , salvini , and Gt , and some sort of tropical fish like a barb
I think the Gouriams are getting to big for what i want thoughI may keep them just in a tank of there own.
So for the top line of fish a 90 would be good or which should be removed if i go that way? by the way i will aqua clear 110 on the 90 2 of them i like them better for me.

If you want the Texas in a 90 keep the sal and lose the GT. Some Rainbow fish or Giant Danios could work in there with them. Set up some good cover, drift wood ect for the sal if it starts to get rough in there. I personaly don't overstock I always stay on the lite side, so my opinion may differ from others. As an aside a 4ft tank is not sutable for a group of tiger barbs long term with other fish.
