I was kind of hoping for some shots of the entire snake laid out on a flat surface. Size and location of her bulge is very important as she may just have feces inside her. Shelgs don't really bred just because they are housed together, it take simulation of natural environmental cycles in order to trigger breeding behavior. If you were out of town for two weeks and not heavily misting them then I doubt she's gravid. Only time will tell though.

they were misted daily and heavily while i was gone. i will try and get better pics but like i said, I dont want to stress her. I asked a few people that breed them and they said it could go wither way at this point.

As long as your easy with her and gently coax her from her perch the amount of stress you inflict will be minimal. From the small amount of information you've given it would be impossible even for an experienced breeder to say one way or the other. Saying she could go either way at this point is as vague as you can get. I'm not saying better pictures will be definitive but they'd be the best evidence thus far. So how long do you think its been anyways?

I really don't know how long it has been if she is gravid but the bump near the vent in the first pics seems to come and go depending on what position she is in. She has not defecated recently and has not been eating (or striking) at her food but she has been drinking plenty. If she does not gain weight to indicate pregnancy soon then I will force feed her to try and get her back onto feed.

When I returned from my out of town trip she had an infected fang that made her mouth swell a bit and she has not ate since then so it could be that as well but I removed the infected area and administered some antibiotics and all symptoms vanished the next few days.
The only thing is if the male misses a meal he loses weight quickly but she does not seem to be losing any weight at all but rather is quite plump.

They are each misted daily for 5 minutes and the humidity is kept around 80% at night and 50% during the day. The temps are at 95ºF on the hot end and 80ºF on the cool side with the night temps ranging in the mid-upper 70's.
They are fed F/T mouse hoppers in separate containers every 10-14 days. The male has always been a picky eater and will usually eat about every other feeding but he has been good about eating lately and has not missed a meal in the past 2 months. The female has not missed a meal until recently and does not seem interested in the food at all. I tried dipping the mouse in salt water (a trick to get neonates eating), feeding live, scenting it with lizards, and even feeding a live anole but there is no striking or sniffing the meal- she just acts as if it is not there and if I tease feed her she burries her head into her body until I put her back. This lack of interest is common in gravid snakes.

I will go ahead and get some pics tomorrow of her lying flat. Any more info you need?

The pictures would be best. I have worked with over 20 species of arboreal vipers and have bred quite a few of them so I'm very familiar with the behavior of a gravid female. I do keep shlegs but my experience with them is somewhat limited. I can tell you right now though that your temps are extremely too high for shlegs or for any other arboreal for that matter. They should be more in the range of about 10 degrees less than what you currently have them at.

How do you remove infected tissue from the fang of a hot snake?

The proper way would be to put the animal down using isoflourene but in order to do that you would have to be a vet or know someone who was. I'm guessing he put the snake in a tube and did it without any anesethia.

yeah, removed it with tweezers, used a small paint brush to get any dirt out, and rinsed with saline.

my fingers are crossed...
