Reeflo dart. So your a high roller, are you?

Ha ha just messing, they are expensive, but awesome pumps.

I have run power heads in shark tanks before with no ill effects. just make sure there is no stray voltage and you will be fine.

Thanks, can we talk about acclimation guys? He should be out of a tank for more than 3 hours...that is the ride between stevens point and milwaukee...so what should we do when we get him back to the lab? Thanks

I have my shark in with powerheads and he doesn't seem bothered by them. Granted he doesn't talk so I don't if it bothers him. I would prefer an external pump with pvc plumbed in thru the bottom for flow, but I don't want to spend to get a new tank like that.

How are transporting him? In a sealed bag or in an open tub?

My thought was something like an 18 gallon rubbermaid inside of a 22 gallon one with some sort of insulation. Towels or whatever.

That would work. What would be best is if you could get some large plastic bags and seal him up with o2 and put a couple of heat packs in with him. I am sure a LFS could hook you up with a styro box and some bags.

I just think that most LFS's won't have boxes nearly as big as a bucket. Also, for a short trip (3 hours) o2 is definitely not necessary. If it was a longer trip I would do so. Might get some heat packs, but I feel I would need a ton of them to do anything in a box/tub that big. Having the car warm during the trip will keep the temperature just fine.
