Garbage bag would also work inside there, but I don't know that it serves any purpose because the cooler obviously won't break.
In my experience I have just carefully but firmly grabbed him and moved him. I have seen a few other people do that as well. I couldn't come up with anything better for moving him because he cruises and jumps when he is getting moved. Any better ideas would definitely be helpful for this case and the future.
