Um I think I would try to ride the shark. If your going out make it cool. If someone is hovering there snapping photo's at least you make get some good pics out of it.

Greenterra, I think youre mistaken on the shadow theory. If you look where you say the shadow is on the right side of the shark and the sun is on the left. That shadow isn't a shadow it's a reflection of the dorsal fin out of the water. See how the guy in the kayak has the same reflection under him. Also the angle of the reflections is the same which suggest that the picture is in fact real.

sad thing is, dude in the kayack doesn't seem to be aware

totally irrational, but in "jaws" which i first saw at age of 10, i don't think there was any mention that they actually breach like whales

so not only are they actually as big as the movie said but they jump out of the water to get you

LOl lots of things i think are kinda creepy, or worthy of cautious respect but for some reason these scare the crap out of me

i think they only breach around seal island. somehing about the geography and sea floor makes that the best strategy...err something.

I’ve been in a 8 ft kayak up in Northern California when a 12 foot great white trolled by. It was amazing to say the least! She rolled just a bit to take a look as she kept heading towards the seal rookery we were close to. As for this pic… I think it’s a shop job.

great white around that area have developed a technique that is unique and very effective at catching seals, they dive to a certain depth and come hauling ass out of the deep towards a seal, if prefectly executed the seal wont have time to react or get out of the way.

As I recall - the Great Whites in the Jaws Movies were said to be about 25-30ft in length. Even Bruce the mechnical Great White was about 27-28' in length.

Now which pasts approximations for the maximum size for Whites was up as high as 36 ft in length - these have proven to be false. I believe the largest offically documented recorded Great White is about 23-24 ft.

So a 25-27 ft Great White may possible exist, but they would likely be very hard to find, because they would be incredible rare.
