Green Severum

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree with Jexnell Jexnell dithers will help. Also thats not a green its a red shoulder. I think when in full color a beautiful sev. As for food it will start eating whatever you feed just give it time.
My thoughts on the dithers is bleeding heart tetras, diamond, Columbian or if you dont mind the extra $ Congo.

Hello. Thanks a lot for the info. The guy at the pet store told me it was a Green Severum. He ate well today. He liked the Angelfish flakes I put in there & the NLS Cichlid pellets. I will give him some Blood worms. I looked up the Congo tetras they are beautiful!!! I will check out the others also. Thanks again for all your help. appreciate it.

Yeah I love Congo tetras. I have 10 in growout. Hopefully I'll be able to use them as dithers with my uj poly collection.

How big do the Congo Tetras get and how big does the Red Shoulder Severum get? Sorry for all the questions.

Congos are a max 4-5" fish usually a bulky 3-4" at best. I had a green sev year's ago that got to about 8" but mouths are small compared to other cichlids of that size. Mine was a bully but I've had friends who've had them and they were model citizens.

Do you think he will be OK in the 55 with all the decor? The picture of the tank is on page one.
