Green Severum

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From the checking I did it seems that a 55 in the smallest a single can live in. Just as it grows will have to up the water changes as they increase thier waste production.
I do 50% water changes every week and have 2 filters. I did look at the Blue Acaras and they are pretty.

I had a pair of them but lost them to a heater running out of control. The tank was at 90deg+ when I found it.
This is them, just a inch long20180630_164929.jpg

This is the tank I am starting with.

Found it on Offer Up for $400. Tank has never been used. The stand is way over built with marine grade oak plywood and real oak trim. It's soaking a piece of driftwood that will be in it atm. The tank should be up and running early August

That's beautiful. What size is it?

Standard 125gal long 6ftx18inx20in

Yup never been used, brand new with glass lids, two three foot long T8 lights.

They were going to use it but moved to a smaller place and no room, so my gain.

Great deal!!! I can't wait to see your fish in it. IM thinking of keeping the Severum & getting some dither fish and see how that goes. IM also thinking about just doing a hardscape tank like the picture I showed from ADG which would give him more room.

That sounds like a great plan. I look forward to seeing it when it all comes together.

I am going with Platinum Jack Dempsey's. Start with 6 or so at 2inches. Let them grow and pair off themselves. Keep the pair I like and give away the others to local MFK members I hope.

Was twisted between Red swordtails for a dramatic color difference from the JDs or Pineapple for a more "natural" look.

For bottom feeder I am thinking Albino Marble Hopolo cats.
