Ok, i got a green terror and it doesn't seem to want to eat. I've had it for 3 days and it has barely eaten a thing or if anything. I have tried a variety of pellets, but he just chews them a bit and spits them out. I have also tried bloodworms and live food e.g crickets, yet he doesn't want to eat any of it. I have look up if he could be sick but none of the diseases i could find really fitted the picture. He is only about 4 or 5 inches long and it would be a shame if he died from starvation, he is a very nice looking fish, also he is very shy and reserved, i did try a water change but that didn't help.

Tank specs:
40Gallon
Ph:6.8
As for water hardness i dont have an exact number but i know its fairly high i have to lower it, and nitrate i dont have anything to test that..

No, he is the only fish in the tank, so i dont think there is really anything in the tank that could stress him out...

youve only had him 3 days?
he can go over a week without food and not die..
Id say he is just settleing in still...
Offer him food once a day and see how he goes..
He isn't bloated or thin is he?
no visible signs of any problems?
If not he should be fine.. sometimes it just takes fish a few days to get used to a new tank and new food..

what is the tanks dimensions?
filtration?
other chemical readings. such as ammonia, nitrate, nitrite?
what colour poop if you get can get a look?

but i think that it will need more than 3 days to settle, even at a week it may still be in a mood. any more than 7 days though then i would look for another cause other than relocation. it is tasting the food so it will know that it is just that, sounds like its just in a mood at being moved still.
saying that the answers to the above requests would make things easier. if you dont have a test kit then your lfs will probably test it for free.

Wait a week, if he still doesn't eat, you should think about introducing some dithers.

ok ill post again if he hasn't started, also i cant really get a look at his poop, mainly because he hasn't pooped at all i don't think he ever has because there is nothing there that looks like it.... and the ammonia levels and such i need to get a test kit for still...

if he's constipated.. get epsom salts..
it acts as a laxative..
might be an idea to do that as it wont do your fish any harm, will just clean his gut out..

The terror will be good, he is just getting to know his and your surroundings. The terror will have no choice about not eating. I have one and its blind. I had it in my 75 gal with red devil, jags, jack, and a flowerhorn. He got punked so badly I had to take the terror out and put her in a 20 gal to recover. When it eats it just gulps at anything when it senses food around her.

I shall try the epsom salts if he doesnt start eating soon im a tad short on money atm lol so i will have to wait till monday i reakon lol...
