your fish is stressed for sure and your temp is to hot, bump it down to 75 degrees make sure he has hiding places to feel safe and try and get some bog wood it will help soften the water. South American cichlids come from softer water than that of African Cichlids

The green terror (Andinoacara rivulatus) is a colorful freshwater fish in the cichlid family. The fish originate on the Pacific side of South America in the coastal waters from the Tumbes River in Peru to the Esmeraldas River in Ecuador. Males reach lengths of 30 cm (12 in.) and females can, too. However, females stop growing the first time that they spawn and will remain at that length for the rest of their life. Females are sexually mature at around 4.5 in., and therefore that is the smallest length that they can remain at. This causes a misconception that males are larger than females.
As the name implies this species can be very aggressive, especially adult specimens. This is not guaranteed, however, and peaceful individuals are often observed. Juvenile green terrors are often sold in pet shops for the aquarium hobby, as well as fish similar enough to be mistaken for this species (including the blue acara, Andinoacara pulcher).
The fish is somewhat deep-bodied with a prominent head. Adult males develop a pronounced forehead hump, a common cichlid trait. Juveniles are tan colored with silver-blue flecks and lack the bright iridescent blue, green, and orange coloration and long, flowing fins of adult specimens.
Green terrors natively live in a tropical climate and prefer water with a 6.5–8.0 pH, a water hardness of 25.0 dGH

Is this plagerized or something you've learned in you own personal experience?

I'm really curious because last week, I ordered a couple of 2.5" Orange Saum. They've already paired up and spawned. Are you saying she'll be 2.5" for the rest of her life?

its plagerized http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_terror

Prestage, he is just afraid of you. he was chased by a huge net, thrown into a tiny bag, then thrust into a strange tank with strange people trying to give him food. just chill out, place some decor in for him to hide in if he feels the need and throw a little food in twice a day. use the pellet of your choice though. if you use something such as bloodworm you will have to starve him into eating pellets most likely. keep the treat foods for once he is adjusted to a quality pellet.

he will get there, patience is key.

Only a few blood worms, so not enough to really matter :\ I shall have to keep waiting i guess.. I dont think he likes the pellets i try to feed him no matter what i feed him though he spits it out except the occasional blood worm Any ideas?

I have heard they can go 2 weeks before it starts hurting them. Like everyone said, just wait, also try feeding and then leaving the room for a little while. I have had fish that won't eat in front of me for the first 2 months.

Mine didn't eat for eight months. He must have eaten something, but I never saw it. I got rid of mine when he started shrinking from four inches back to three. I hope yours gets an appetite. Gold Saums tick me off. Things that aren't hungry really spook me out big time. Best of luck.

yeah wait on the bloodworms till hes eating pellet and try soaking it first to soften it up, hes most likely spitting it out because its still to hard, but yeah so soak pellets for 10min then feed and watch from afar or from behind a corner and see if he goes for it, +1 on what knifegill said I HATE when a fish doesnt go for the food right away it makes my mind go straight for the worst conclusions but you really just have to be paitent and then try to see his poo if its white/stringy go ahead and treat him for parasites right away just to be on the safe side GOOD LUCK

I guess I got lucky with mine. They ate within 30 minutes of being in my tank. Within a week, they dug a pit and laid eggs on a rock.

is your water okay? that's how fish act when nitrates are high . if he's not digesting food put some salt in the water . you can buy epsom salt from riteaid and put 2 heaping ounces per 10 gallons and the next day put 1 more per 10 and next day 1 more per 10 again . that salt helps if he cant digest something . i dont think he's settling in , it just dont sound like a green terror . my first guess is bad water , do a water change , by nitrate, ammonia remover for the filters , if you have done a water change recently then just put in the remover in the filter compartment . even if it (water) doesn't smell bad it could still be bad
