Thank you all for your help, for shelter im using a BIG cup, ironically it says size matters.... :P He seems to be more curious which is a good sign i think :) now i don't have to worry so much lol, i just hope his colours returns soon, :P

no need as your water is at 6.8, and i bet that your fish is a tank hatched/raised specimen so ph is largely unimportant without going to extremes, for example my ph is 7.6 and at a previous house it was 7.9.
good idea for decor though. mopani and redmoor woods do not alter water chemistry.

the pipe is also a good idea as it will provide shelter. 25 degrees C is fine, whatever that equates to in Farenheight. maybe look at your water circulation in the tank as the warm water may not be getting circulated to the other side of the tank properly. if your looking at dithers or tankmates then a larger tank is a must.

you can also try blanched peas squeezed from their shells to act as a laxative and it may also encourage it to eat. and yes a light would be a good idea so you can enjoy your new friend :).
 
I have had a green terror for a while now, he stopped eating and had white poo which turned out to be hexamita (which I hear they are prone to). However 3 days probably means he is settling in still.

Try some frozen bloodworm, mine goes nuts for it. If you see white poo then time to look more into it.
 
if he isnt eating it sounds like water probs. eg. amonia, how new is the tank, with these probs. you need to be testing the water regularly.
I dont mean to be hard but if you cant afford to look after fish you shouldnt have them. again sorry to be hard.

The only reason i can't afford it is because i havn't got paid yet lol...... Once i get paid i will get all that i need.... As for how new the tank is its been set up for about 2 weeks or so.. And the ammonia and such i am getting all the test kits when i get paid lol :popcorn:

see your lfs if they will test it for free, many do. thats if your at all worried and would like an immediate answer.
 
I dont think he is sick, i mean i have read the symptoms of a fair few diseases but he doesnt have any, but ive never seen them before so i could be wrong. At the moment he seems to be scared of me or any one that goes near the tank, if you get to close he backs to the back of the tank, anyone got any idea why?
 
yeah hes afraid of you try putting in food and then back away from the tank (like all the way to the other side of the room) and watch him and see if he goes for it, both my GTs ate within an hour of getting into my tank (though i moved my female into a smaller tank and shes acting like yours is and its been several days and she was never like that in the big tank)
