Green Terror or Red Devil

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just tossing this out there, but I have found the Jack Dempsey to be an excellent wet pet. I have a male that zips to the side of the tank to say hello and strut his stuff every time I walk by. Even though he's a garden variety JD rather than the fancy Electric Blue he's getting some excellent color as he matures. He's going to be gorgeous. He eats like a pig and is growing fast.

Are the other fish in there Astyanax tetras?

Nope baby brassie golden Dorado that I acquired During a trade, they are up for sale although I'd love to keep them....

Thought of another possibility... red Texas cichlid. They are a hybrid species. Very pretty, very bold, very aggressive.

My red Texas cichlid, Caligula, is holding his own in a Red Terror tank, if that gives you any idea. He has them hiding under driftwood at the moment and comes up to talk smack to me every time I dare get too close... unless I have a food canister in my hand.

You would probably want that to be the only fish in your tank.

thought I would share the new addition to the family, A mini Green Terror! :)
Quick question ... I have cut and drilled a perspex screen.. is this going to allow enough oxygen into his section..?
The Yellow Labs will go eventually.. just waiting for the Green Terror to grow a little to fill the space. Will then fill with some Schooling fish.. Maybe Hill Trout (what are your thoughts on these?)
thanks

Green terror or Red terror ??. What kinda tank mates ???
This is an old thread so you may not get many responses..
I went for 9 Cuban Tetras, 15 boenos aires tetras and 15 zebra danios... 7 Cubans left, 14 buenos aires left and 3 danios left.
Ive now added a red parrot and raphael catfish.
Will probably get rid of the remaining danios and buenos aires. Not sure what to replace with yet.
Giant Danios will work and so will Hill Trout but your probably looking for other cichlids?.. My red parrot chases the green terror if that helps

GTs like most cichlids have great personality like most cichlids but for a wet pet red devils/midas take the cake for me. If you want something less aggressive. Blood parrots have just as good personality.
