growout for a teacup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you asked which was sufficient for a growout... right?? ok, a 125 will work, but for how long? a 5-6" motoro in 6months tops will more than likely need a bigger tank... sooo why not take ur hard earned money and put it towards a bigger tank, or building your pond..? that way you dont have a 125gal just sitting there when you do HAVE to move the ray .... thats why i say none are sufficient... don't bash me for simply answering your question....

Your post was not relevant to the original question that is why I "bashed" on you. I understand what you are saying though if you want to move past the question. I agree. Im not living in the future but the present and right now the motoro is in a grow out tank and was curious if a grow out tank mattered much when it comes to dimensions. Thanks though appreciate your honest opinion. No harm done. ;)

A LOT of ppl on here get fish, put them in a 75 "grow out" tank, and say they are going to build a pond, and never do. So, that's why you got answered the way you did.

Personally, I don't care what size ray it is, I know I'm not putting it in anything less than a 125 to START.

Skip getting the bigger tanks, and build the pond. Then you don't have to upgrade later when you may not have the finances available.

x2.

plus i want to smack everyone that calls rays teacup. such a stupid term that is very misleading and causes more problems for these beautiful creatures than is necessary. if only this word could be banned from use with rays.

well then lets ban it!

Once again you assume about people, learn not to do that. But to put you at ease, when I move from my apt. to my house the pond will be made.

You originally called your ray a teacup. :screwy:

Secondly, this is what we are talking about... there is always some excuse that gets stated and then the pond never happens- the fish/ray stays in the 75, and then 6 months from now you will be on here wondering why you ray is curling.

We are not assuming anything about you, only making observations about what has been said.

"I plan on building a pond..." is like saying you're gonna win the lottery- chances are it won't happen.
