Growth on tiger shovel nose’s nose??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The 75 is just a grow out tank. I think his stomic if big because he either ate bloodworms or the ghost shrimp I have in the tank. I’ll test my water and the temp is around room temp which is 74. I’ll buy another heater today

Is it normal for Shovelnose to not be active as babies. Because I never see him swimming I only see him in the reeds other than when I just introduced him and when I moved him for the pics. He doesn’t even swim around at night.

Kinda odd, but in the wild they hang out in groups when young.

I was gunna get him a buddy to see if that was the reason but I turned around because of his potential condition. How infectious is it and is it lethal?

I tested my water and I’m awaiting the results of the nitrate test. But my ammonia tested a little high at .50 ppm. I feel like that might have something to do with why my fish are acting a little weird. How would I fix this? I’ve never really tested my water in my tanks because all my fish have been just fine and thriving with out it. I’ve never tested my doviis water and he’s pushing 14in. I’ve had him since 2 and hes spawned multiple times

I don’t know if u guys can tell from the pic but there’s a film on the top of the water. Figuring that’s not a good thing

the best thing on the ammonia is a waterchange and add some extra prime, that stuff on the surface looks like oil like when you feed oily food what are you feeding this guy(I know you have probably answered this)

Bloodworm are the only thing they have ate. As of two days ago they haven’t ate anything. I’ve feed bloodworms but they didn’t eat them

I’m not sure if it has to do with food because it was there when I first started the tank but I figured that it would go away after the quick start. I forgot about it and saw it again when I was testing water
