Crazyfish88 you said your rays "only "grew a few inches in a few months. That's a crazy growth rate dude. But in my 8 years experience keeping rays they grow quickest from about when they get to the size yours are 10" ,than it seems they explode 4-5" in a year

My 15 inch marble is in a 120x36x36 she is fed twice a day massivore shrimp and crawlers tank has 10000 gph to the tank chamber filter 58watt uv and a Bio reactor she is in IMO over fed my water is clean enough to drink fellas and i have not seen this kind of growth you talk about ??? Why do such massive water changes? I thought you only do that high% wc in an emergency?
U mean it's safe to do 95% wc (add prime before filling straight from tap)??

I had a 3 1/2 year old male triple spot Motoro male that I got as a pup and he was only 11" disk width. He fathered several litters of pups and was the gentlest male ray. He left no sign or marks of mating. I didn't even know they mated until I saw pups moving. He was in a 240 gallon tank (5' x3' x2') with one female regular Motoro that was 15" and 1 1/2 years old.

There is no reason why you should call another member a moron. You mention, it is silly threads that drive people away from MFK -- the real reason is personal insults and immaturity. I am not judging you, but your comment towards another member here is absolutely childish, immature & un-called for. I don't doubt your experience or intelligence, but those who have garnished reverence status here on MFK throughout the years handle themselves with respect & dignity along with a dash of humility. Never will you see or read some of the most respected member here belittle or partake in a silly argument. We can all learn from them. If you don't like a certain member, don't post on their threads. If you feel you have the right to do so, by all means do so, but keep the insults to yourself. It not only affects the person it was meant for, but leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth who is actually interested in the topic at hand -- having to read through the nonsense & personal attacks.

I think this thread is interesting & hope to see some more pics along with constructive conversation. Subscribed.

If you have a constant flow system then why not change 200% per day, or even more?
Growth rates are always better with better water and better diet.

I actually had my rays for almost 10 months now and both of my rays grew 2" since. I feed them mp twice a day, nightcrawlers as a treat once a week. I just started getting them on silversides too and I'm gonna give tilapia a try soon. They are in a 450 gallon 8x3 foot print tank. I do 70-80% wc once a week and I don't use RO. I'm sure if I get them on pellets they probably would have a faster growth rate.

Also my 9" male is way nicer then my 12" female. My not as nice female has a much faster growth rate compared to my male and she intakes three times as much food compared to my male. This is just my experience with raising marbles.
