Boxers fight at a higher level, their training regimes, their skill, their talent exceed MMA. It's an age old combat art, and because of that, no other combat art can touch boxing's hand techniques. Not just for power, but just look at the way a world class boxer parries, counters, throws crisp, accurate combinations. It's an incredible skill and artform.
Personally I also find boxing WAY more entertaining. Half the time in MMA it's 2 club fighters rolling around on the floor for ages. Personally I find that very boring. I'm not a wrestling fan. I like to see fighters smash each other.
That's probably why I am only a fan of 2 MMA fighters - Gomi and Fedor. They are both brutes, and strikers. Oh 2 others too, Cro Cop - because he can actually punch, and is a pure striker with takedown defense. And Genki Sudo because he is funny.
I have nothing against MMA, but I just think it's on a much lower level than boxing.
What truly great MMA fights have their been in the last few years? Anyone who hasn't already, should watch fights like Morales Vs Barrera 1 and Corrales Vs Castillo 1 to see boxing at it's finest.

Exactly, boxing is at just a different level. You get good matchups, competitive matchups between world class fighters.

Yes boxing has been around a long time..... but if you theory is correct....... Kung Fu and other MA's should be at a higher level being that they date back thousands of years...... Boxing has made leaps and bounds in techniques within the past 100yrs.... look at old pics bareknuckle matches in the old west..... even 30yrs ago M. Ali era showed strange techniques...... todays boxer is a diffrent fighter........ why? there's a saying......

back to my original point....... most mma fighter nowadays employ boxing coaches...... add that to the fact they only wear knuckle protectors.......
no use argueing which sport is better...... (mma is) its personal peference...... i cannot understand why some of my friends like football...... maybe its because their fat and like need to be part of a team? i dunno...... I like mma because it is the next generation of sports...... pure combat...... like survival of the fittest in olden times......... what am i babbling about? i dunno.....
