gt male?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I guess the only way to be sure is vent it lol!!!....The only thing I can see where it might be a female is body shape... Cich wit if that is a female that has a lot of color....See how the color is uniform all the way to the shoulder area? Females are more blotchy and space out. Also the blue face mask is a sure way to tell. The female the lower jaw are is more of a soild color less spangles.
Also females in breedng time tend to get a black bar in the gill checks.

Hey thanks for the input guys fish is only about 3 or so months old and about 4 inches long looks bigger in the pic that what it is. do the males get a hump this young? How do I go about venting just take some pics on the vent and post them up?

At 4 inches it is really hard to be sure.....I haven't seen humps on a fish that small except for the so called "Dwarf Green Terror" I know some peope have spawned them at that size...Grow that Bad Boy and lets see what "it" looks like in a year lol!!!

Have u ever bred this fish? I have many times..... I have bred White Saum, Red Saum and Stalsibergi.....There is no olive color on this fish? The biggest female I have ever seen was 8 inches...show me a pic on the 10 inch female???? The body color is way to intense. Not seeing the vent in the pic defines a male? U can tell by that pic how big the fish is?
No disrespect but how long have u kept Green Terrors???
I have had a pair for a year now. I have kept em before but got a jag pair so got rid of em. Im currently trying to breed em. and the females have olive green on the body and males r more iridescent in color.

Males get the black bar too on their cheek.

<<<<<<<<<<---------When my males were 4" they had humps. Please see photo to the left. Now you can say you have seen one.

To the original poster.
If your fish is only 4" don't try to breed it. It will slow their growth rate. It is hard to tell if this is a male or female due to the quality of the photo but your GT is a very good looking fish.

I have breed over 6 different pairs over the last 30 years. I haven't seen it?

I know this is true for females I never heard it before for males......Interesting....
Thanks again!

He is def a male, because my male looks like that too, he is not getting with your female, maybe he is still shy or he is simply not interested in her, give it sometime.
