  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Got a question tho, what if he decides to.swallow a raph cat..will he choke on that? If ever he does that, i dont plan on removing the raph like what some of you warned me earlier. I just have this high hope of comming them together

Dont take my word cuz I have very little more experience but every vid of them eating another fish....they almost look like they are buddies then bam. I wouldn't chance it but agian im no one to give advice.... sorry bout the angel man I know u liked him.

Well raphs are very slow growers so I hope either the gulper is pretty small or the raphs are pretty big, I've got mine at 1" since last august and he's only 3.5" now. Eating a raph could really hurt the gulper since raphs have very painful spines down their lateral line (believe me, I found out the hard way :)). So it's your tank and it's up to you whether you're willing to take that risk.

Did your gulper die when he swallowed the raph?

Here are more pics of the little fella. Didnt eat anything today tho aside from those two huge angels he swallowed yesterday

For a single gulper, i think a 40 is good. But i think you'll enjoy him more if you get at least a 50. He'll be set there for life hehe
A 40g, is 12' wide, isnt it? Then he wouldnt really be able to move as fullygrown, i'd say that 18wide is way better, but i've never had one, so no idea how active they acually are, but to be just as wide as the tank as fullygrown, then he would have to be very inactive, for that to work.

40 breeder style is 3 x 18" I believe

Mine's really active tho. Always swimming around even when the lights are on. But that's maybe bacause mine's still young. Perhaps as they mature, they get lazier and lazier. But i think a standard 50 is good enough for a single gulper. Im not planning on adding another one in there. For 2 above, maybe a 75 or a 120 gallon would do.

On a side note however.....i have a contact here in the philippines, who just got another shipment of little gulpers and can sell them to me cheaper. Veeerrrryyyy tempting to start a gulper community :D problem is i dont have space left for another big tank haha
