Hey all,

I will be moving out of the rents house within a year, as I will be graduating in May. One of my first purchases will be a shotgun. I am choosing this as the ideal weapon to protect my home for a couple reasons. 1 - I don't have to be an Ace shot with it, the spray helps and 2 - The sound of a shotgun cocking is a very distinguishable sound.

My question is this: What to get? I have been looking at pistol grips with a folding stock, and I like remington's (http://www.remington.com/products/f.../model_870_folding_stock_7-shot_Extension.asp)

Is there anything else you guys would recommend? Any other shot/gun in general?

Thanks!

lol careful a dude just ranting bout his thread being closed bout guns =/

Read what was said in his thread....Oddball (A global Mod) just said it is ok to talk about guns. Buying/selling guns on MFK is not.

Yup, what he said.

A good side-by-side coachman 12 guage with external hammers will get the point across. Lots of big dark barrel to look down and really loud cocking sound when you throw those hammers back.

Just because you have agun means nothing, are you willing and able to use it. It does not sound like you have a firearm background.

Having an unarmed person break in and shoot you with your own gun is a possibilty.

Also the "spray" as you put it makes for some liabilities, I take it you are going to shoot birdshot?

If I was keeping a shotgun for home defnse it would have slugs in it, no spraying for me.
