Thats not how its done........The Arrows ( notice the plural ) are used to tether the animal, it's pulled to the boat ( usually takes awhile ), then the animal is killed with a high Caliber Handgun or Bang Stick..........

I've literally witnessed someone shoot an 8 foot gator in the head with an arrow. The gator took off and they spent half an hour throwing a metal claw attached to a rope to drag the bottom to haul him up. When they got him up he was very dead.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
i want him in a large private enclosure in my backyard.

You don't need one that big. At that size, they aren't too fast. Stick with something in the 10-14 foot range. Much more exciting to work with.

I'm surprised people took the time to snap a pic of the crocodile but never took the time to get rid of it or at least rehome it

50 Caliber Barret is an anti-tank gun, if it hits you or anything for that matter there will be either a VERY big hole or nothing at all. And even if it misses you the bullet has a air bubble that's pretty big, and will rip your face away from your skull. NOT to mention that the recoil is so bad that you have to BOLT the gun down. If you shot the croc with it you wouldn't be able to tell whether or not it was Gustave.

Over all I would advise against using a 50 caliber. :grinno:

P.s Sorry a little late, you guys kinda moved on from the 50 cal but I wanted to throw that in there.

Anyone ever hear of this monster! Gustave the giant crocodile he is so big he kills hippo's(hippo's usually kill the crocs). He has killed over 150 ppl and is still loose! He lives in the Nile river I beleive!
i have heard of this particular croc, and have seen some footage of it when jeff corwin tried to catch it. (the thing was MASSIVE!) the 150 people sounds exaggerated, 30 or so is what i heard, but i would guess 20.

Really? Well I shot several rounds through a .50 cal prone last month (not bolted down) and my shoulder and I are still here to talk about it. ;) It helps that the gun weights 30+ pounds though.
