Ya he definitely stood out among your group. I can’t believe they paired off that young. I’d say your group is a little larger than mine is as far as starts.

He looks great. I’m just over two weeks in with mine and so far all seem to be doing well. A few of the individuals are outpacing the group in size, I’m hoping to get a pair out of them....fingers crossed.

As you can see in this thread my pair formed super early. The good thing is they’re easy tonsex since the males and females look different. If i had to do one thing different, i would have had a divider handy. It might not have saved my female in my particular situation but I might have been able to be a little more prepared. I miss my girl, she was more rambunctious than the male

Fortunately I do have an egg crate divider at the ready for if/when anything happens. I’ve got some new foods to try coming tomorrow for them, all from Kens Fish. They eat the kelp flakes ok, but seem picky about them, something about the consistency of some of the thicker flakes I think. I’ve got some of the metro/garlic ones coming that have probiotics and some of the tropheus lover flakes as tropheus are another bloat prone cichlid, so we’ll see how they like them.
