Half Eaten Oscar...The Saga Continues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive never seen something this bad survive. In your guys opinion how much can i regrow?
Will it be a healed half fish missing its back end? And im curious to know what your feeding this
guy through this? Would you add more protein, and can this regrow?

Good job overall, i dont care what everyone says if its right or not its means a lot that you
chose to do this and did it the right way and obviously this fishes outcome was a priority.
who knows maybe someone can learn from this and even in lesser situations might be able
to save a fish that could have been lost.

Good Job and most of all best of luck

I don't think you understand what i posted...and it was not directed at you, think what you want the fish is alive and healthy and Im glad the OP didn't given in, and did what he felt was the correct path to take for his fish.
People need to lay off of the OP its done and over and the fish is alive.
I didn't think it was directed at me.
It'd be more interesting to find out what's new without everybody humping on their own opinions. Both sides.
The OP was always going to do what he/she wanted.

its an open forum people are going to posts their opinions.

Wow he lost quite a bit of his body. Glad to see he's doing well. I know what its like to have a fish get half eaten and to try to heal the damage. Happened to my black moor goldfish and the only indicator left is a missing eye.

Acting like a P.0.S and insulting all who had different opinions is a good way to get this thread closed.

BTW this "Jackbag" still stands by my opinion.

Yeah you and all the others that were so quick to kill the fish obviously know nothing about human/animal anatomy. This injury is nothing more than an animal/human losing a leg or even two legs. So with your dimwit theory, if one of your family members got into an accicedent and lost their legs you would pull the plug. Great idea guys! There were no internal organs showing so why are so many of you surprised that it is living and thriving? Yeah it will have disabilities but with the proper care from the owner will live a long happy life. Hope you all learned something. Maybe instead of being defensive you should own up to the fact that you guys made the wrong decision and congratulate the owner making the right decision by saving a fish!

I think its great that the fish survived but really how fair is it to the fish? If the OP ever decides he doesn't want the fish who else will? I personally would have put the fish down long ago. Call it what you want but I wouldn't want that in my tanks and I wish I didn't feel this way but I do. I work hard on my tanks and all of my fish have good color and finage and I do weekly water changes to make sure they stay that way, It was very unfortunate that this happened to the fish and I would have been very upset but If it had been me I would have just put the fish down at a young age as opposed to letting it mature into something that would make both me and the fish unhappy in the long run. At the end of the day if the OP is happy with the fish I guess it was worth it. I would just hate to see this fish mature into an adult and wind up in a LFS in a 10 gallon dirty tank all by itself because no one wants it.

Wow, that's all I can say to you and not get banned for what I really would like to say about you. I hope you never have a kid with a disability for the kids sake!

There is a big difference in a kid with a disability and a half eaten Oscar. That being said I am glad the OP is happy with his fish and I see no reason for you go get yourself banned just because I had an opinion about something.

No matter what I do or don't know. No matter if I am wrong or right. I don't need you calling me or anyone else a a "Jackbag". See how your POS comment is turning this thread :duh:

IMO that fish is a waste of aquarium space, no matter why I feel that way(though it has been clearly stated). It is my opinion that I have a right too, plain and simple.
