hand guns

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
.40 cal ammo is not much more then 9mm. I own one 9mm, a Ruger P95 DC. It's the only 9mm I will ever own. The next handgun I will be purchasing will be a Kimber 1911. I sold my Colt 1911 along with a few other guns to pay for college. I still regret it to this day.

It is not a 9mm but the CZ-52 or a TT-33 are fun guns to go out and plink with. It fires the 7.62x25 round which is rather readily available a cheap right now.

The CZ-52 ranks as the best shooting handgun IMO and is one of my all time favorites. Plus they are pretty darn sexy :)

I shot a Makarov, think that was the same one. Awesome gun, incredible accuracy for what it cost. Leaves a decent sized hole. If I get a hand gun that would be the one.

Dont waste your time with a 9mm. You can empty a clip in a crack head and not even slow him down. I never understood the big craze for the 9mm. get a 40 or 45. I just got a 40 cal a few months ago and my dad carries a 45. you can blow a much bigger hole in a crack head with a 45.

.

LMAO!!!!

For the most part I agree with what folks are saying about going 12ga for home defense. I also advocate revolvers for HD. Im getting my wife a .357 revolver. Its got good stopping power and its reliable. She doesnt need to break it down for a good cleaning and then try an remember how to put it back together. As for the whole 9mm round debate, if you can shoot, its going to do fine. None of us are going to be engaged in a firefight in our bedrooms. One or two rounds, hit or miss will more than likely end the situation. Single hits from my M9 in Iraq dropped Iraqis dead or close enough to it on several occassions and I wasnt making commando joe head shots. My biggest concern about 9mm for HD is the penetration. 9mm will go through walls easy. Theyll also go through car doors and still have some hurt in them. If you live in an apartment or mobile home and like your neighbors find some Glaser rounds or go with something slower.

if you plan on using a shotgun inside a house remember that the pattern will be very small ( a few inches in diameter) and it needs to be aimed like a rifle.........ime use a deer barrel with iron sights

And remember to make sure the intruder carefully steps away from your tank(s) before firing.. :)

I would think some of these monster tanks would be bullet proof! then again they are under pressure. I hope none of us have to find out.
I tell my wife that nothing in the house is worth her killing someone over or risking her life in the dark against an unknown intruder. She's to stay in the bedroom and call 911. If they come through the bedroom door she can assume theyre coming after her and light em up.

thinking about a new hand gun and already want a glock 17 9mm or 45.My uncle has about 20 different ones and 10 riffles and i just like how those feel.thinking the 9 mm so i can aford to shoot at the range more often. What do you guys think of buying a used one since they are so tough and what would i expect to pay.Im in cali and i want it leagal all the way. Thanks for any info.I already have a colt 45 too so maybee just give info on the 9mm.:)

I own a sig p228. I like it. You should test out some at the range before making your decision. Not sure what part of cali. you are from, but theres a place called the Los Angeles Gun Club that you can rent handguns and test them out. I'm sure there are other places just have to look them up. Make sure you're comfortable with it before you buy it. :)

 Good policy, everything else is replaceable.

Yeah I was only joking. Truthfully if someones coming after me personally, whether monster tank around or not you got to do something.

Don't know if you're stuck on a Semi Auto or not but a good ole' 357 MAG is always nice... Go to the range and plink with .38 specials all day and you're good, and for home defense or whatever slap in some 357 Mag rounds and it's GO TIME !!!!! I've had a Glock compact in .40 and 9mm and both were great guns !!!!
