I want to cut the corner overflow vents another 2" from the top down. I have a 265g tank with two corner overflow vents. what kind of saw do you guys recommend to use? Can someone offer any tips on doing this without screwing up?
why did you drill it? what was the purpose?Never sawed it but I drilled 1/2 holes in mine from the top down to about 2/3 up. Drilled easy. Sawsall should work fine just go slow.
To drain the water and keep the water level lower. It's more feasible than to cut the openings/grids/teeth of the overflow.why did you drill it? what was the purpose?
wouldnt it make more sense to cut to eliminate the excess water noise level in the overflow box? I would imagine drilling would create an enormous amount of water gurgling noise in the hole. I just thought cutting the overflow vents or teeth would look cleaner and more professional looking. To drain the water
It's more feasible than to cut the vents of the overflow. However, your bichir or small fish may go thru the hole into the overflow. It's almost impossible to cut those ventswouldnt it make more sense to cut to eliminate the excess water noise level in the overflow box?
