Has anyone evr tried to heal a broken/dislocated finger on their own?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Eh, I've fractured my fingers plenty of times before. All they've ever done is put a splint on them so now I just tape the finger in question to the next one on my own and fill a pez dispenser with advil.

bingo!! Unless its a severe break no reason for a doc

remember, you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can not pick your friends nose. Right along with you can prick your finger but you can not finger your prick.

just sayen,

Why can't you?

So what'd the OP do?

have a doctor do it if it's a break, DO NOT try and heal on your own... I have a crooked finger for life attempting to heal a break on my own when I was young.

It hurts when it's cold and because of it I can't touch type. I am the fastest "hunter and pecker" you will ever see type though lol...

My pink is exactly like this, bent to hell. Dislocated and broke it, snapped it back into place and never looked back. Now I cannot close my fist all the way because the pink does not bend...it sucks.

it's like you're forever throwing up the west side

Well, I still have not seen a doctor. I gave it a few days to see how it would go. At this point the finger is still bent. However, there is less pain and I can use the finger, but still have to be careful with it. If I try to force my finger straight I can feel tightness in the finger, like the muscle or tendon is won't allow me to fully extend it. And if I hold my finger right below the joint and try to wiggle it it feels like the bones are grinding. I believe the injury is called mallet finger (which someone already mentioned). I will probably go to the doctor in a few days. I was reading that a deformity can develop if it is not corrected the right way.
