has anyone seen these before?????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey Bryan, did you see this here in SA?? Just curious?

And at first sight it would 'P' me off, but I get the point.. never see me driving anything fuel efficient.. I'll stick to my 12mpg Ford sexiness...:naughty:

lets make the car pumping more pollutants drive more to search for a space...yeah makes TONS of sense.

there is a list. if your getting 25 in the truck it might be in there. the list is pretty funny. i think diesel 2500/3500 trucks are on the list haha

I read an article in Deisel Power magazine about a chevy with a twin turbo duramax that cranked out over 1,000 HP and 1,500 lb ft of torque and still got 21 MPG highway :-) and ran 10's in the quartermile :headbang2 but to look at it you would think it just came off the showroom floor .

What kind of parking space should the 47% of Americans that aren't paying taxes get compared to the rest of us that are???? Although it's just a silly parking space, it is a sad truth that people do receive preferential treatment because they are perceived to be fulfilling a preferred trend. Who's to say that the some preferred space users don't live like Al Gore and create a carbon footprint 10x's the amount they are perceived in saving while driving their eco-automobile.
I say give the parking space to the old lady with the bad hip and get your eco-rear end in gear and help her carry the groceries.

That may be true but everyones family Finances are different I know alot more families that can not afford a new fuel effient car then those who can, I know people that have to make a effort every payday just to put food on their table and if they are lucky they Might get something other then ramen noodles .
Maybe I took it wrong but to me but ....
When you said "Without getting political, the goal is to reward those that are making an effort to reduce our dependency on oil and our carbon footprint"

It sounded like people who can't afford one isn't making an effort or doesn't care which wouldn't be right to assume that ...

Sometimes it's hard to get a statement like that across. I never intended to assert that someone that couldn't afford a car isn't helping. It is just one of the many ways that people can help. I'm sure there are tons of people that ride bicycles, walk, commute via bus, carpool, etc. It's just one way to recognize people for not buying the big Humvee.

To be honest, I'm one of those people that couldn't afford one of those cars as well. I'd love to buy the wife a new car. But, I have a wife in school full-time making part time wages. I couldn't afford a car payment if I wanted to. Not even on a $25K Smart Car. So there was no ill intention sent on that one.

if it encourages more people to buy efficient vehicles so that there is more fuel for my gas guzzlers, that is fine with me. Doesn't mean i won't park there if i am in a hurry.

i dont think it encourages people to buy those kind of cars...cuz they are pretty pricey. thats one reason people dont buy them. and not to mention they are weak. less horsepower most of the time means more mileage. i personally wouldny buy one cuz of that and in my opionion they look ugly.

I have no problem with signs like this. Don't get me wrong, pregnant and handicapped should still have better spots but people that have more efficient cars should get some recognition.

If these signs help even a few people buy fuel efficient cars then I think they've done a good job.

So your saying that because i drive this

i shouldnt get any reconignition ? if it wasnt for people who drive the big suvs and big gas guzzleing trucks you wouldnt get your house fixed. your food at the store . none the things u buy would be possible without the big gas guzzleing trucks. i use mine for my child whos in a wheeel chair and for work. ever tried parking a burban in DC ? even with a handicap tag?

ps if the people driveing hybrids wana impress someone and get some recognition they should try walking more.

Why is everyone taking this as a personal attack? Sometimes, people just have to drive bigger, less fuel efficient vehicles. It is the way of the world.

Oil prices are shooting through the roof. Anything we can do to reduce our dependency should be appreciated. Less consumption means less demand. Less demand equals lower prices.

Think of it this way, they are using less gas so that you can have the gas you need, at lower price you can aford, so you can do what you need to do.

No one is passing judgment on those that don't drive them. There's no need to be defensive.
