Has "LOL" replaced periods at the end of a sentence?

usually it just means something is humorous, you don't actually have to laugh out loud.

yes lol has replaced period and commas.. for example:

The madam parked her car and tripped on the pavement lol while the kids in her neighborhood just walked past by without helping lol todays society is just not the same when it was back in the 80's lol when kids were more helpful around elders lol
 
i used to hate "LOL",but even i use it now...crap...but i guess its better than going "hahahahaha".LOL
still put periods at the end of the sentence before LOL.
i just need to fix the fact i dont leave a space after the period.
