Have you been bitten by your fish?

Chase it or poke it? Are you for real? I don't appreciate the insinuation. What exactly makes you a fish expert, specifically, a Piranha expert?
Fish will bite for a number of reasons, not the least of which is aggression. When a fish feels that its space is being threatened it will defend its territory. Conversely, a fish feeling threatened will also defend itself, the difference being its done out of self preservation and not aggression.
I resent the insinuation that I would be harassing my fish inciting them to defend themselves. You are just short of an accusation and you dont even know me. Why not stop this internet-forum-genius-routine and leave this thread alone, at least the "advice" on why a fish would bite. This thread is "Have You Ever Been Bitten?"

All I asked was if you aggravated it. I claim no expertise to any type of fish. I've just read somewhere that piranha rarely bite people. Wether or not it is true, I dont know. That's why i was asking. A friend of mine as 4 rpb in a 55 and they have never bitten any one even when are hands are in the tank.

Had a 14 inch Midas. Tried to take it out of the water to measure it one day. Didn't have big enough net for it, tried to use hands since he was only in a 55 gallon. Yea, my middle finger on my right hand was bitten. Wasn't really painful cuz it caught me by surprise, but the wound looked it it was slit by a couple needles on both sides of the finger.

I've been bitten by Oscars, a bifasciatum, convicts, damsels (these little guys can put a hurtin' on ya), a snowflake eel (latched onto my finger and wouldn't let go when I pulled my hand out of the water he still wouldn't let go). The only ones that brought blood were the eel and the bifasciatum.

I was bitten by my giant snakehead once when he was about 16 inches it never drew blood tho i was surprised that it didnt lol.and it hirt alittle but now when ever i put my hands in the tank ill keep a rod in my one hand to shoe them away
