i have fed fish thet pissed my off to my larger fish but have never been lame enough to flush a healthy fish just because i failed to chose tankmates wisely

people are really stupid this is a website about taking care of monster fish and doing anything to keep them healthy so why would you post this. that is like the person who posted the recipie for clown knife on here. that is like going on a save the deer website and telling them how a week ago you killed 45 deer and their brains blew out their ears and how bloody it was and how you just left it there to suffer and die. sorry just really mad right now

Freezing is not a humane way to euthanize the fish. Chop it's head off or put it in a fish bag with no water and slam it against the wall. Did it many times to large cichlids and other fish that irresponsible owners would abandon at PetSmart while I worked there and never had a fish need to go for a second round. Just slam it as hard as you can so there's no chance of the fish just being stunned. Potentially valuable fish got taken home for LFS credit but everything else the idiots would drop off(oscars and pacu mostly) got slammed head first into a wall. Just too many big fish and not enough responsible owners out there.:irked:

Lepornius tend to be like that. All sweet and mellow till they get bigger than their tankmates. Then they get nasty.

Killing it out of frustration is stupid. Killing it when you can't even give it away is preferable to dumping it in a lake or river though. Please research your next fish more wisely.

Honestly after reading this post, I wish someone would flush the TC. Anyway, Ive never murdered a fish the way you did. If I want to experiment with a volitile combination of fish to see if it will work out, I ALWAYS make sure I have a place to take the new fish if it dosent work out. I personally have a large leporinus in my community, I love him which makes this topic piss me off even more.

^First thing I thought of........ No, I have never irresponsibly killed ANY of my pets, never will. Why? Because there's no reason for it. First, I research my pets before putting them together. I have an old cocker spaniel that hates other dogs, and we wanted to get another......we tried meeting with other dogs that were up for adoption, and she would try to kill them. So we waited a long time until we figured out that we just needed to get a puppy that would be somewhat submissive instead of another adult. So we now have 2 goldens as well, all's good. We didn't just kill her. I mean, I guess we could have put her in a box and thrown a flea bomb in with her or something, guess that would have worked :grinno:.

nope... im not a crappy fishkeeper.. i dont kill my fish for being fish..

Lets get back to responsible fish keeping people....
