Lately I've hit the jackpot for free tanks. My girlfriend's dad had a 100g saltwater tank, but eventually everything died (he's pretty inexperienced). He didn't want to get rid of the tank, so he just put it outside in the woods behind his house. Low and behold, once he found out about my hobby, he told me where it was, informed me that it'd need some washing, and wished me the best of luck. It's now in my fishroom.
Also, while driving through my neighborhood, and snooping around like I do, I noticed one house had a large tank in their garage, standing on it's end, and looking rather dirty. I went to the door and asked if they were getting rid of it, and they said it was going to be put to the curb the upcoming week. I waited a week, then walked down and took it home. It's a 75g, and the only reason they threw it out was because of a very very tiny scratch on the side. With a background, it's not even visible. Shame. But it's mine, now!
