Hawaiian Dragon Moray Eel? 125g?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, Mike - I also think a 125 would be over stocked with your list.

Keep in mind most of the fish on your list - are messy eaters. Messy eaters = increased production of Nitrogen. Unless you have a filtration system to handle it.

Maybe a better list would be -

- 1 Snowflake Eel
- 1 Radiata Lion
- 1 Small Angel - like a Coral Beauty
- 1 Small Trigger or a small Puffer.

Any more medium to large size fish - and you would likely need to upgrade your filtration system or get a bigger tank.

Well said.

Sorry guys, my knowledge on filtration and water chemistry is anecdotal at best. I need to improve on it. I really only know about the fish themselves for the most part. Other than that, I know what I need to know and leave it at that before I overcomplicate things. lol

Anyway, I agree with you. You could try tobies (sharpnose puffers), flame angels, or dwarf or fu manchu lions as well if you want a little less mess and a little more room.

I have the 125g already. It's a reef which I'm moving the corals and shrimp to my 20g which I'm setting up a nano reef. I'm thinking of getting a small snowflake to get me ready for the hawaiian dragon so I gain more first hand expierence with morays, etc.

Good plan. Work your way up. First the gecko THEN the monitor. Sorry, I'm a reptile keeper, best I could come up with. :P

It's more like first a couple miles on the bike, then go to ten. Sorry, love my bike! LOL

And KRJ, I'm going to definetly upgrade filtration soon, so I'll feel comfortable with the bioload.

Lol nice metaphor. :P

Wow dude, I'm getting absolutely bombed in the other forums. O_O I actually have experience with herps, and almost none with fish. Aint that ironic?

Do you have your actual fish lined up for sale?

I'm not going to start selling until I feel that my filtration is upgraded enough to take the plunge into an aggressive tank.

What do you mean by bombed? About what?

Are you from the south? I'm from OK and was wondering because of the ain't.;)

Haha, I'm from Texas! I say ain't and y'all on a regular basis :P

I'm being flamed for being 'arrogant' but its just brutal honesty (the best kind). Look in the reptile forums.

Good luck with your fish
