When i first joined the site i was given this advice and im so glad i followed it because i was spending most of my time in ca/sa section and really missing out on all the site has to offer
Spend allot of time in the health and diseases section and the set up and filtration section. Read the stickies and threads even if they dont pertain to something your dealing with now. Even though this is the BEST section because we get to discuss polys but theres way more to learn about the hobby and no offense to anyone but your not gonna learn it here.
Yea...would slow feeding down to every 2 days. The only problem will be if that opening goes deep in toward the gut then feeding will need to be held. Hope it heals up. Will keep an eye out. An opening like that past 30 days is what bothers me as mentioned already. And i believe your not supposed to feed during medication, i just read that somewhere.
Really appreciate the help. Haven't heard of 4 going on 17, but I have heard of 13 going on 30 lol.clm08k
I just skimmed over the thread but was dealing with a tantrum from my 4 yr old going on 17 daughter. So if i repeating something that was lready stated forgive me.
Are you on city/state water or well water ? If well then prime is not need.
I noticed that you said "they" didnt test for nitrate in one of your posts. Dont trust the lfs to test your water. Im not saying your lfs would do this but if your water is fouled by nitrates fish eventually get sick, you then by meds, fish gets better but sick again, you buy more meds or fish dies you buy more fish. If you havent already get an api liquid master test kit. Also i could be wrong but did you say nitrates were at 0 ?
How do you clean your filter ? Do you wash the media and foam in tap water ? If so and your on city/state filtered water that uses chlorine or chlaramine it will kill off the benificial bacteria and essentially recycle your filters.
If all of this was covered then ignore me and call me an idiot lol
That wound definitly looks worse though
I forget does the cartridge hold media? If so then just slightly rinse gunk out with tank water. Bacteria will die of rinsed with tank water.
Nitrates shouldn't be zero. Means u don't have any BB in ur media. All the water changes is what's keeping everything at zero. Does ur HOB have media for BB?
What kind of hob ? Since no nitrates like kno4te said... all those wc's are whats saving your fish. Definitely dont wash out your media in tap water... mo need to do a total scrib on any filter... really cant tell you how to better clean it until we know what it is.... i have a feeling there isnt any bio media.
No need to thank us...we all went through this at some point... just wanna save that ornate![]()
