Just a HUGE WARNING, espically since your living at home still... methylene blue is a dye and if you put the fish into a bucket of this and then net it out, the splashing of this dye can ruin things like carpet or fabrics. So lay out old towels to protect furniture and carpet. The stuff works great but the bath concentration can stain. I just saved your life, lol.

The dye really does stain. After use I disposed of it in the toilet and it had discolored the porcelain a little. I had to get the comet out and scrub at it to clean it off. So I can just imagine the damage it would do to a white bucket or even a white laundry sink..... probably best disposed of in a stainless steel sink.

Looking at the Dec. 23 post #57 and comparison to current photo. The open wound got much larger. Really pulling for this guy to a speedy recovery. Perhaps, no hides and place heater againat the corner walls. Good luck

Thank you. That means a lot. I am too.:) Really appreciate you putting Benny in your thoughts. I would be devastated if he doesn't make it. Don't even want to think about it, because he is a highlight of my life.

Going to get rid of all hides- even his hidey log. Will try the heater in the corner wall. Started off vertical, Currently is horizontal.

kno4te kno4te , Thanks Dr. Kno4e. Fish store was closed, so have to wait until tomorrow to get meds.

thanks DMD123 DMD123 , you did save my life. No joke about it. My mom and Dad would kill me if I got blue dye on the tile or in the bathroom sink. Thanks for the tip. Will pick up some dye tomorrow. Hoping he makes a recovery after dealing with this wound for the 40 days.

thanks for the joke. Humor always makes me feel better. Sorry for the numerous posts, I am really worried about him taking a turn for the worst. Feel really guilty that I let it get this bad. and happen in the first place. Just want him to get better and be back to looking normal again.

Took out ALL rocks(not gravel though) out of the tank, removed hidey log, and put heater up in corner of tank. My mom made my dad cut a piece of board for the tank on. She's been really concerned about him the past couple of days too. Seen her watching the tank in the morning lol. You know she loves him when she lets me buy another tank lol. SHe also doesn't want me to put any plastic plants in the QT because they could hurt him.

It's awesome that it's not being ignored and actively searching for a remedy. Also, it will help future issues that poly keepers may run in to. This thread gives us an opportunity to save or heal our beloved poly.

clm08k clm08k dr kno4re and dmd have you covered they helped me a few times when i was stumped. Read that link that dmd posted about meds... great read should be mandatory lol

One thing i would add is up your water changes... dont be scared to do 50% every other day. These fish love the clean water.... i was doing daily 50 to 75 % last week when dealing with the sens eye injury.

Im not sure if imissed it but do you test your water ? Nitrate, ammonia and nitrite ?
