Heaviest Jaguar Cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Jaguar cichlids are smaller then bluegils or crappie? HAHAHA! This has got to be the most overated brusier eva! Bluegils and crappie are freakin' feeder fish on the lower end of the food chain in cold freshwater environment.

Poor tinyweeny (what is the term?) Guapotes?

I would think that the world record rosey red minnow may exceed 4 pounds for cripes sake. Doggone I have been keeping indoor aquirium for just over a year, so I can't claim the "world record" jaguar cichlid. I am utterly shocked that someone (or many, many) here on MFK does not have the WORLD RECORD JAGUAR CICHLID in their home aquaria! Comon guys, weigh your Jags and post pictures with weights to see if that 3+ pounds is a misprint! Like if a 8 got cut in half vertically along the left edge it would appear as a 3, or it could be missing a leading digit: Like it could be 13, 23, 33 ... pounds!

Here are pictures of Bluegill and Crappie that utterly dwarf and would likely devour the "guapote"!

My bad. The pics didn't work the first time. Bad reference though. Those aren't shaped anything like a jag. Some type of grouper would be a better reference.

Grouper? You must be kidding right? They are up to like 100 pounds!

Lets try a blue tilapia cichlid as extremely similat size and shape. The (Not world) but FLORIDA record for a Blue Tilapia was 21 inches (0.5 inches shorter then the world record Jaguar.

The Tilapia weighed OVER 10 pounds!!!

There has to be 3 plus. Here is mine, he was an LFS rescue, i have beefed him up really well. This was a little while ago. He has a female that they spawn every month that is 12 inches.

He is not saying that his fish weights 3+ lbs, he is saying they are out there. He was simply showing the mass of his 12" Jag.

Cap lock hurts my eyes.
