I was under the impression that lots of water changes will kill your fish. But I guess if you have a cycled tank. Meaning a cycled filter then you can do it.

Yes to everything you stated.
Always remember to add a Dechlorinator such as Seachem Prime or Seachem Safe.

I'm going to have to read up about sumps.

I'm guessing they need to be underneath your tank and need some complicated overflow system.

Having that 200l plastic tank. Could I not essentially just make that a massive canister filter?

Haha. I thought so.

I do use dechlorination but it's a fairly cheap one that is used for ponds which I was told would be fine.

I'm considering buying one of those RO systems. Unless it's a waste of money.

Your very welcome! Tbh I was one of those guys lol until I joined this forum and still learning daily. There are veteran members that have a wealth of knowledge and experience of the proper fishkeeping hobby ?

My experience on most forums is that the "old boys" scoff on the newbies, but you guys have really been amazing. !!!!!!

You can possibly get banned quickly for that here. Members are supposed to help not belittle anyone regardless of what they know or ask.
