they are all gonna be filled with bio media..it doesnts really matter .. forget what the instructions say and just fill the dang filter with media.....

i would put the bio max at the bottom... because fluvals suck for mechanical filtration... now tomorrow you need to go buy bio media... not talk on here

bio max AND the EHEIM substrate PRO correct? or are these 2 of the same? and i need to just choose one over the other?
also with the bacteria should i buy a small bottle and dump the whole thing into the filter before starting it again?
and im going here tonight in a few more hours befor they close and adding this all tonight to get it started so i can just leave the tank alone and let it do its thing with out disturbing it anymore OTHERTHEN the daily WC's!
ok so just got back from petco picked up a box of the EHEIM substrate pro to replace the bottom tray of the fluval that has carbon in it ill put the BIO MAX there and in half of the middle tray and put the substrate pro on the top tray and the other half of the middle tray SOUND GOOD?
NOW WITH THE bacteria they had nothing left other then API STRESS ZYME i read alot of negative things on this but grabbed it just incase.. SO should i use this at all or better off with out it? and if i use it should i add it straight to the fluval filter when adding the new media? and how much just follow the directions?

just follow the directions... also i would do every other day water changes till your tank cycles fully...
well i got a FX5 going to arrive here on tues.. should i setup this filter the same way i set up the fluval 305? the FX5 and my CASCADE 1000 will be going on a 150gal tank now instead so i will have both on the 150 (the fx5 and the cascade 1000) or should i set one filter up one way and the other another? the 305 is staying on my 55gal
