fro the sump id get a 15ish gal container of some sort drill holes in the bottom fill it with eheim bio media or bio balls or pot scrubbies put it on top of the tank and pump water to it then you can take your time to build a sump read as much as you can then put all the used media in the sump

i wouldnt even worry about a sump on that tank... get your filters cycled properly and you will be fine as long as you dont add any more fish...

right now i have the fluval 305 setup like it says to with what it comes with same thing with the cascade 1000.
o yea and definetily no more fish going in there
bio media... buy eheim substrate pro.. dont cheap out buy a good media worth it when you upgrade

and how ever you wanna do your bio.... i would use all substrate pro but hagens is a good mmedia... so up to you if u wanna do both baskets...

so then i think i am just going to keep the 2 canister filters for now (since im trying to get a 220gal tank soon) and i will build a sump for that tank instead but still kinda unsure if to use all the substrate pro in both filters and if so do i just replace everything in the canisters the CABON and BIO MAX in the fluval and the CARBON AND PADS in the cascade?
