I honestly don't know anything about stingrays other than that they need a tank with a large footprint and motoro's get pretty BIG. As far as the reticula your best bet would be to ask someone in the stingray section.

Thanks for your help. I looked into the Reticula aka "Teacup" rays a little bit and they seem to be far las hardyer then a motoro would be.
I'll probably just get a male and female jag and set them up in a 125. Have your ever heard of a Slant-nosed gar aka Pike Characin? I'm kind of wondering about them there requirements seem pretty easy, and they reach a maximum length of 28'' but smaller in aquariums..
I'm just going to get jags though. I was wondering what a male jag x female lioselli would look like or a male jag x female motoguensis red tiger would look like though. I wish I could find some pics.

one thing to keep in mind is that if you have a breeding pair of cichlids like that you will have few tankmates live if there are any but with the slant nose gar its a characin thay get about 10-12'' in aquariums theres alot of fish sold as freshwater baracudas or some kind of gar so it can be tricky to get the fish you want but if you get one be aware that alot of these fish will only eat live feeders the slant nose gar is said to be easy to train to eat prepared food thow but look up ornate bichir thay are a good bichir but stingrays dont need a 500 gallon aquarium but thay do need a wide aquarium for a teacup id say you need a tank about 28'' wide at the least
Ornate birchir's are awesome! Do you think more then one could live in a six foot long 125 gallon?
I was at one oy my favorite LFS today and they had juvie jardini arowana's for about 59.97! I almost bought one, because I was thinking I could put it in my 35 gallon as a growout but I dont have my 125 yet so I didnt want to risk it.
But do you really think an jardini aro could live out its life in a 125? The 125 is six feet long, I dont know how wide because I'm ordering threw my LFS and He only told me the length!

no a 125 is too small for any aro thay really need a big tank plus jardinis are know to go crazy one day and kill there tankmates and a 125 should be 18'' wide but i don't have any experience with keeping more than one ornate but i've herd that thay really don't get along well but you could definetly keep them with other bichirs and cichlids also you may want to look up delhezi,palmas bichirs
also one more risky thing you could try is to have the jag as the king of the tank and have oddball fish like bichirs i like bichirs because thay pretty much keep to them selfs unless you can fit in there mouth but with a jag its risky just be prepared to have a few fish dead one morning but it all depends
I went and asked about tank sizes for jardini's in the aro section here on MFK and now have the proper dimensions to house a single jardini.
I wish there was someone out there that kept a jag and a bichir that would post here! I really want to keep an albino bichir and a jag but I dont want my jag trying to eat the bichir and the bichir putting up its spikes on its back (thats probably not the technical term) and killing the jag, then they wuld both die!

well i do happen to know myself what i did was bought a senegal bichir and raized it up in a 20 on blood worms and fish (frozen hes my favorit no feeders for him) then he was moved to a 55 at 5-6 then i added a small jag not the smallest but a small one (go to petsmart or pet co if theres one by you thay all ways have small fish at a good price toAttackFish;807426; said:

kind of just talked about me didn't i i would ether buy a good sized bichir if you can find one and a small jag or buy a small one like me and raise it up and get a small jag i would say to try to get it to about 4-5'' befor you get a jag
