Help a newbie I.D. his flowerhorn

Thanks for the help guys!! I'll attempt to vent him this weekend! And thankss for identifying him! Now I have a name to give ppl when they ask what kind of fh I have :)
 
I say male 90% sure if it was a female with that kind of double flowerline it would have some type of dorsal spot. Try putting a mirror next to the tank for a few mins a day it will help him color up.
 
Haven't vent it yet. Had a busy weekend. Plan to this weekend though while doing a water change.

He/she seems to be getting more comfortable though!
 
hhmm, his kok looks bigger. xD and i agree with "loureyes". female usually have spots on their dorsal fins, and ures dont have it. soo, it must be a male. :) im sure of it ! and yeah, a mirror would surely help it color up.
 
Ya my lfs told me he was male when I got him too.
And ya his kok is coming back. I know its still some what deflated because it was bigger when I first got him

I have a proven male at home with spots on the fins. There is really only one way to tell. Its venting. My proben female also has a bigger kok then your flowerhorn. I still think its a female. So vent it already so we know forsure ;)
