ZOO DIVER: is that you with the Tiger shark? Is that a tiger shark?

Yup, that's me with a Sandtiger - C. taurus.

I have no experience with Atlantic rays but in my experience with other rays, I've never seen a ray with death curl live more than a day. Maybe it's something else. Is it eating? Sorry if these questions were already answered. I don't have the patience to read all 11 pages. Hope it works out for you. GL

My sabina did that tent thing as well. At first I couldn't figure out why, then I started watching her closely and realized she was breathing in a stressed manner. I removed some of the water so that the level would go down by 1 inch, in order for the water to drop father from the filter outputs and aerate it better (more bubbles), thus putting more oxygen into it, and she stopped doing it. She also tended to do it right before water changes, meaning she didn't like the levels of nitrites/nitrates in the water. Once I did a 50% water change, she was fine again.

CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Na, sandtigers are big puppy dogs. Bull sharks are crazy. ;)

What kind of surface aggitation do you have? A lot of movement to keep your disolved oxygen levels up?

I just changed her water yesterday. It cant be poor water quality. Its testing perfect. Im a little freaked. I have lots of air stones in the tank (probably too many) Have you seen yours do it that bad? shes been doing this off and on for a week now.

remember that pier in Miami everyone used to jump off? including myself. They closed that one down for 3 bullshark attacks. Apparently, they were just chillin under the pier.

ANYBODY HEARD OF CALCIUM/IRON DEFICIENCY IN RAYS? WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN? WOULD IT CAUSE THE DOWNWARD CURL? AND HOW TO TREAT?

Don't worry about too much air from just airstones. The only ways to super saturate your water is to force air in (like a leak in a suction line feeding a pump which creates a venturi) or to use pure O2 running in with airstones. With just regular airstones, you'll never be able to get a disolved oxygen level higher than the air around the tank. And I think you've read the calcium PM already, so I won't repeat it for ya.
