here is it.. you can't really see but here you can see a black pot on the tip of it's fins

my black had something like that when i got him. i didnt do anything right away and it went away. maybe i was just lucky. but as for the feeding just be patient. young aros are timid, especially if they arent the biggest fish in the tank. that spotted gar may be making it even more nervous. congrats on the buy though. by far my favorite fish. :) he'll grow really fast and you'll have a beautiful monster in no time :)

what is it really? is it gonna kill my Black? i fell in love with it during the shop and still in love till now.. i'm worried it will die or his tail yellow and black will fade

im not sure what it is exactly. i just noticed it one day and a couple days later it was gone. i thought it was a "bruise" type thing from a GT that was overzelous in welcoming the new tankmate (the GT has long since been removed). but that was just guesswork.

i cant quite tell in the picture if the black spot is like a raised bump or if its in the fin itself. if its a raised bump then keep a close eye on it because it could possibly be a parasite of some sort. i wish i could be of more help :/

yea since you bought it 2 days ago just give it sometime they can handle not eating for a couple days so just starve um a little and try again :)

if its in the fin then i wouldnt worry about it too much. if it came like that then it could just be part of your fish's coloratioin or damage done while being shipped to the store you bought it from. once you get him eating a healthy diet his colors will come out nice and strong and any blemishes will disappear after a couple of days. mine is at about 15 inches right now and sometimes he still gets small bruises from an out of control bichir swimming around the tank at top speeds for no reason. the marks always go away.

Guys, he is eatting now :) but he does not chew down on anything i throw in immediately so when i throw down frozen food/frozen blood worms he wont eat it

Just to be safe, I'm making sure you are not throwing in frozen ice food straight from the freezer, right? And I dont think arowanas chew their food.

I personally feed my baby arowana frozen shrimp I buy at the market $4USD/pound. Every time I feed it, I take it out of my freezer, run warm water over the shrimp until it becomes soft. Remove tail, remove head, remove shell. Then I rip the shrimp into 1cm piece and feed it to my aro.
