My fahaka puffer is probably about 6 7 in size I've never seen them with ich before but yesterday after coming home from work I noticed he has little white specks all over him All the other fish in the tank seemed to be ich free. He is eating great still I raised the temp up to 80° and added some salt but I'm debating on taking him out of the tank because it is a 300 gallon tank I don't believe I can get it to 86°! But also at the same time I don't want to remove him from the tank and stress him out even more can I get some opinions please! And if I end up taking him out of the tank I was more than likely going to treat him with copper but hafe the recommended dose.

If one fish has ich, they all are infected. No reason not to treat them all. Salt works, but do be careful as puffers are sensitive to just about everything (definitely be careful with any meds). That said, I did put 3 amazons through salt + heat with no problems.

My only problem is heating the freaking tank! I saw on some forums people using ich x for puffers with no problem

Salt will still work even without the extra heat - treatment may just take longer.
Ich-x works but to my knowledge it might stain stuff in the tank.

Can use ichx or paraguard.

Raising the temperature only speeds up the lifecycle of the parasite. 80F is already warm enough to allow it to be killed off quickly. Salt is quite effective against Ich, so you are already on the right track. You can use Ichx as well, but an adequate salt concentration is usually all you need.
