from the first set of pics I would not have ruled out the possibility that it could be festae. from the second set of pics I'd say it's less likely. and for the record, even at 1-1.5" a festae can be identified as compared to red devil or midas at the same size. if I could see that fish in person I'd be much more likely to be able to tell you if it's festae or not but without being able to see the fish it's hard to say. One thing I noticed though, even though the vertical bars are faded in all the pics, it doesn't look like the first 2 bars form a Y which is one of the primary characteristics of a festae.
To the original poster: next time you're in the store, look very carefully at the vertical stripes and look to see if those first 2 vertical bars form a Y shape. If they don't then it's definitely not a festae and much more likely to be either some type of flowerhorn or a red devil/midas.
