I have no idea if your is going thru a mini cycle but I had the same problem with keeping discus in a 125g tank. I kept loosing discus until I added some live plants. I wonder if there is a relation between discus with live plants. If you really pay attention, most of the nice discus or angelfish fish community tank are the heavily planted tank. Congrats for keeping the fish alive and glad it worked out for you.jdmjunkiemonkie;3755051; said:so far they are doing good with fishncash idea, but i didnt put any coppersafe since they are not safe with plants in there. i got a big driftwood with little holes for their hide out, bout 4 anubias 1 amazon swords 3 pvc piping cut to about 3 - 5 inches.
water test on it was fine, all i wonder is since a 12 gallon is so small is it possible for it to go in a mini cycle when doing water change, if so should i have little bags of ceramic rings in the tank just to keep bacteria efficient enough for the tank not to go into a mini cycle. i housed many fish in the 12 gallon and didnt lose a fish until these indo's came. i had 10 pbass in the same tank before. then i had 4 ntts with 11 loaches before.
